This Privacy Policy describes how MyTools ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our mobile application ("the App"). By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

1. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect:

Email address
Password (securely hashed - we never store plain text passwords)
Date of birth (for age verification purposes)

User Content

To provide our service, we store:

Photos you upload of your tools, equipment, items etc.
Location markers you create within the App
item information and descriptions you enter

Device Permissions

Camera Access: We request camera permission to allow you to take photos of your tools directly within the App. Camera access is only used when you explicitly choose to take a photo. We do not access your camera in the background.

Photo Library Access: We request photo library permission to allow you to select existing photos from your device. We only access photos you explicitly select.

Usage Data

We collect anonymous usage statistics to improve the App, including:

Feature usage patterns
Error reports and crash logs
General app performance metrics

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

Provide, maintain, and improve the App
Process your subscription and payments
Send important service notifications
Develop new features based on usage patterns
Ensure security and prevent fraud
Comply with legal obligations

3. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely on cloud servers with the following protections:

To exercise these rights, use the account deletion feature in the App settings or contact us.

6. Data Retention

We retain your data as long as your account is active. When you delete your account:

Personal data and uploaded content are deleted within 30 days
Some data may be retained longer if required by law
Anonymous usage data may be retained for analytics

7. Children's Privacy (COPPA Compliance)

The App is not intended for children under 13 years of age. In compliance with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA):

We require users to provide their date of birth during registration
We do not permit account creation for users under 13 years old
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13
We will promptly delete any account if we learn the user is under 13

If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately.

8. International Data Transfers

Your data may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place for such transfers, including standard contractual clauses where applicable.

9. Third-Party Services

The App may integrate with third-party services:

Cloud Services: Database and authentication services
Apple App Store / Google Play: Payment processing and subscription management

These services have their own privacy policies, which we encourage you to review.

Third-Party Identifiers (Advertising ID)

The App uses third-party SDKs, including Adapty, which may access the device’s Advertising ID (AD_ID). This identifier may be used for purposes such as analytics, attribution, app performance insights, security, and fraud prevention. The App does not use the Advertising ID to display ads.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. We will notify you of significant changes through:

In-app notifications
Email (if you've provided one)
Updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this policy

Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
